Looking for a way to get involved with RPS? Join our CCIAC group. We need a diverse group of parents, community members, business leaders, and students to share their voices about the education of all Rochester Public Schools learners. The role of the CCIAC is to provide input and feedback on curriculum, instruction, and learning across RPS schools.
The next meeting is Thursday, April 17, at the Edison Building, 615 7th ST SW. The group will meet for 90 minutes and dinner will be provided. Please RSVP at: https://bit.ly/cciac-rsvp

We LOVED having so many ALC families come through our Family Check-in Night! It was great to see students, parents/caregivers, and staff interacting and connecting. Thank you to our donors for AMAZING raffle prizes. (Families spoke with at least 6 staff and got a raffle ticket in return.) Thank you to Pasqualle's and Vanicream for your donations, and to China One for the delicious food.

Thank you to our community partners for supporting our ALC Student Wellness Fair! We never know what we might share that can help a student down the line. Due to tomorrow's Snow Day, we'll now be holding our Scholarships Informational Night for families (Juniors/Seniors) next Thursday, March 13, 5:30-6:30pm, at the ALC.

We're so grateful to be able to partner with Rush World. Our students get to experience a team sport, be active, and work on their soccer skills!

Our students have been busy volunteering every week at Channel One! They sort, stock, and help label food items. They're also learning how to work as a team and how it feels to give back and help out!

Our students learned all about ice fishing with Public Health/Nature Rx!

We had a wonderful turnout for our FAFSA Parent/Caregiver Education Night. Thank you to our RCTC advisor for sharing about this FREE financial aid application and the North Star Promise program that can help cover college tuition. Chanda works closely with our students and families and is available on Tuesdays at the ALC.

The ALC has a *NEW* partnership with Crossfit Credence and FYR (Forging Youth Resilience) this quarter! We appreciate this opportunity for our students to create wellness goals and to get the personal training to work toward them.
FYR believes in "using fitness to teach perseverance, grit, determination, resilience and confidence to face the challenges life throws their way with grace, maturity and strength."

Every quarter, our night school teachers host a student-centered learning night. Students can choose from a variety of enrichment seminars. We're thankful for community partnerships that help to bring outside expertise and opportunities in. We partnered with a local artist, Suszi Q & Company, to offer a hydrodipping class, as well as a local baker, Black Dog Bakery, for a pie-making class!

Thank you, Stock Martial Arts and Ryan Stock (martial artist), for coming out to the ALC to teach our students self-defense lessons. They're learning focus, discipline, and most importantly, gaining confidence.

Our school nurse, Jo Beth, and clinic coordinator, Alina, teamed up to teach students the importance of staying hydrated! Students were able to pick up reusable water bottles and personalize them. Thank you to University of Minnesota-Extension for donating the water bottles!

This month's wellness activity was a canvas painting contest! Students used art for calm, and chose from three categories to compete in: Winter Wonderland, Summer Memories, and Dream World. Check out the winners in the pics!
